Welcome to
Little Lamb Preschool
A Ministry of
Wye Bible Church
Practices and Policies
Dear Parents,
Our program strives to create a memorable experience through compassion, structure, and a lot of hands-on learning experiences. Our hope and prayer are that you will be proud of providing this early education to your child. The preschool environment is one of the first places your child will attend regularly aside from your home. LLP is a loving, safe, joy filled place to learn. Christ is the center here at LLP and the teachers love the students just like Jesus loves us. We teach and model kindness, compassion, love, and respect. Your child is valued and taught by experienced and wonderful teachers.
Sincerely,
Heather Frank, Director
Mission Statement
Our mission at Little Lamb Preschool is to provide Christian values, Biblical truths, structure, and play-based learning for children ages two to five years old. We help children flourish by providing an age-appropriate, Christ-centered environment that meets the needs of children socially, emotionally, cognitively, physically, as well as spiritually.
Family is highly regarded at LLP. We provide preschool family activities several times throughout the year, individual support and mentoring.
Statement of Faith
Little Lamb Preschool believes that our existence is to support parents in fulfilling their biblical obligation to raise their children as followers of Christ. We believe that Scripture is God’s word, and it is all truth. We believe that we can only come to God by knowing Jesus as our Savior, and by asking Him into our hearts to forgive our sins and sinful nature.
The staff at Little Lamb Preschool will model and interpret God’s word in the Bible, communicating His unconditional love and forgiveness. We believe, as educators and caregivers, the best foundation to equip students to contribute to our community is to shar the unfailing knowledge of God’s love.
Little Lamb Preschool Staff
Our LLP staff are competent and experienced educators. We meet the standards of the Maryland Department of Early Childcare in our educational backgrounds, as well as our extended education throughout the year. We also require our staff to be Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED certified. We have several teachers who are qualified to administer medication. We will provide specialized training, if needed, for such things as diabetes, autism, or learning/behavior support.
Our staff is warm and loving. We care for each student, and we will nurture, challenge, and train each student according to his/her abilities.
Curriculum and Bible Education
Little Lamb Preschool staff are trained and teach the Lilio Curriculum. Lilio means light in Latin. This curriculum also keeps in line with the Maryland State Department of Education’s standards for early childhood. In addition to Lilio, we also use The Purposeful Design Bible from ACSI for Bible. Through our research, we found both curriculums to be well-rounded because of the number of hands-on activities, structured teacher lead lessons, and strong ethically sound Christian content.
Because we believe the Bible is important, and the foundation of our lives, the students will also have “chapel” twice a month with Wye Bible’s Youth Pastor, Kamin Sealy. Once a month Pastor Kamin do “chapel” at LLP; and the other “chapel” will be in the church sanctuary. Pastor Kamin will spend about twenty minutes with the students reviewing a bible lesson that has been taught during the month. He will use songs, stories and the Bible to teach the students the importance of reading the Bible and depending on God through prayer.
There will also be Wye Bible church visitations for LLP families. About every six weeks, a class from Little Lamb is invited to sing, share a craft, or say a Bible verse in church during the Sunday service. We encourage families to come and stay for the service. There will be Children’s Church provided for kids in fourth grade and under during the worship message and our nursery (0-3 years) is open during the entire service.

Field Trips
Here at Little Lamb Preschool, we believe that children should be given a lot of hands-on opportunities. Fieldtrips and special programs can stimulate learning that may not take place in a traditional classroom. We provide several opportunities for students to attend local facilities. The trips are organized by our staff; however, the parents are included and must provide transportation. We also plan large group activities at our school that include guest educators and community members to share experiences with students. Some of these helpers may be the dentist, postal worker, fire department, EMT and more.
Student Discipline Policy
Children all begin school at various stages of development and with different strengths. The students are learning social skills and growing rapidly, both physically and emotionally. All children learn from trial and error and from a good role model. Our discipline comes in many forms. Each situation and each child are managed individually. The discipline may be a conversation explaining the appropriate behavior or a quiet separation time where the student is given time to calm down and compose him/herself. Each situation is managed promptly and fairly using the staff’s experience and training.
In the interest of maintaining a safe and loving environment, LLP reserves the right to exclude any child from the program for a specified period or to terminate any child’s enrollment if the negative behavior cannot be corrected. In addition, LLP has the authority to release a child at any time who is posing a safety risk to him/herself, other children or staff.
LLP maintains appropriate staff/student ratios to ensure the best possible experience for our children, and we are unable to provide one-on-one care.
Publicity, Social Media & Security
We love the community to know what wonderful things we are doing here at LLP! We also know the importance of keeping our students safe. With this in mind, we always consider what we place on social media and in the newspapers. We will never post personal information and/or names when we advertise.
If you do not want your child’s picture in any of our advertising, we respect that, and we will do our best to follow your request. Please be sure to indicate your request when filling out the Publicity form online.
Both Little Lamb Preschool and Wye Bible Church are equipped with security systems and cameras. These are viewable by only a few people when necessary. All employees and volunteers who are part of our school have completed both state and federal background checks.
Snack
When considering snacks, please look at our website and check with your child’s teacher for ideas! We would like to provide our students with healthy snacks as well as 100% juice and/or water. We have peanut-free rooms, depending on whether there is an allergy in the classroom. Please send only water in water bottles! Thank you!
Holiday Celebration Policy
We are a school that teaches Biblical values and principles based on the Judeo-Christian Bible. Therefore, all our celebrations throughout the year will emphasize these values. We will celebrate harvest with a Thanksgiving Feast that the children help prepare. We perform a Nativity program for parents, friends, and family and celebrate Jesus’ birthday at Christmas. And we focus on the death and resurrection of Jesus during Easter in the spring.
Parking Lot Policy
Please take care when in the parking lot! Always park in the center parking spaces and DO NOT park around the perimeter of the lot. It is important to hold your child’s hand as you walk them to and from the school. Please teach them to be aware and to look for moving cars. Your children are small and sometimes they are hard to see when they walk between or behind cars. ALWAYS USE CAUTION AND DRIVE SLOWLY!
School Closings and Inclement Weather
Little Lamb follows the Queen Anne’s County Public School Calendar which is located on our website. When QACPS is closed for inclement weather, LLP will be closed as well. If QACPS closes early due to inclement weather, LLP will close too. We will notify families through Brightwheel and Facebook to pick up their child. When QACPS is delayed for ice or snow, you will receive a Brightwheel notification in the morning as to whether LLP will open on time. If QACPS has a fog delay, LLP will open on time. Please be safe when traveling and do not bring your child to school if you believe the weather is too dangerous.
Emergency Preparedness
We have an Emergency Preparedness (EP) Plan in place at Little Lamb Preschool. The EP plan is uploaded to the website and updated each year. We want you to know your child will be safe in case of a lockdown, shelter in place, or evacuation. We practice fire drills once a month and EP drills at least twice a year. PLEASE ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOUR PHONE NUMBERS AND EMAIL ARE UP TO DATE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR!
Fire Drills: Fire drills are conducted monthly, and the children will go to the cross on Wye Bible Church property.
Code Yellow: This is also known to the children as “bees to the beehive”. This is a lockdown drill in case of unknown people around the property. The children and teachers shut their blinds, turn out the lights, and all gather in the bathroom in their room.
Code Blue: This is a weather-related emergency drill. The children will go with their class to the church building and sit in the hallway away from windows until the threat is over.
Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.
